About Us
We have a small but very skilled team. We believe the small size of our team allows us to adapt and develop at a much quicker and cheaper rate than other design teams.
Lonny Doyle
Lonny is the inventor of the Doyle Rotary Engine. He started tinkering with the idea of a better engine back in 1985 and has stuck with it ever since. His wide array of skills and knowledge peg him as a perfect candidate for inventing and prototyping. He started working with his hands and machining when he was just a kid.
Since the age of 9 he has been working with automotive parts in some form or fashion. In high school he furthered his machining skills on a CNC Bridgeport mill and got a job at a Volkswagen machine shop after graduation. He eventually got a job as a programmer and general machinist at a sheet metal shop.
His next job was at a racing engine shop machining, welding, porting heads and researching and developing advancements in cylinder head technologies. His 15 years at this shop gave him invaluable knowledge in ports and combustion processes.
In 2004, Lonny dove into self-employment when he started his own aircraft machine shop. Using 3D design software and CNC mills daily rapidly brought him to a new level of prototyping capabilities. Prototypes are now developed on the computer before he begins machining.
Lonny is the designer, head machinist and assembler of the Doyle Rotary. Performing so many duties by himself and in house makes the prototype process much cheaper and faster than with the companies that have to sub-out the various processes.
Brenda Doyle
Lonny's wife Brenda has played a supporting role through the evolution of the engine. Her hard work at home freed up time and money for Doyle Rotary work through the years. She helps us manage our time and makes sure we get the priorities done first. She is definitely the mother-figure of the Doyle Rotary team.
As the engine continues to evolve, she will be in charge of managing time and money to make sure the engine progresses on schedule.
Adam Doyle
Adam is the oldest son of Lonny and an undergrad at Texas Tech University. He has learned to use SolidWorks Animator, Photoshop and After Effects in the past few months in order to take over the responsibilities of media and marketing for the Doyle Rotary. Soon he will begin to learn the CFD program Ansys.
Casey Doyle
Casey is Lonny's third son and a machinist for the Doyle Rotary. He started programming and machining early in 2010 at the family machine shop. He has machined many of the parts for the newest prototype and will continue to assist with the fabrication process.
Dan Pastusek
Dan is one of Adam's college roommates. He is very skilled in web design and programming. He is in charge of all things related to the website. He is also the brains behind the interactive animation of the Doyle Rotary.
